Itinerary and highlights
The Roman Ghetto or Ghetto of Rome was a Jewish ghetto established in 1555 in the Rione Sant'Angelo, in Rome, Italy, in the area surrounded by present-day Via del Portico d'Ottavia, Lungotevere dei Cenci, Via del Progresso and Via di Santa Maria del Pianto, close to the River Tiber and the Theatre of Marcellus.
Campo de' Fiori is a rectangular square south of Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, at the border between rione Parione and rione Regola. It is diagonally southeast of the Palazzo della Cancelleria and one block northeast of the Palazzo Farnese. Campo de' Fiori, translated literally from Italian, means "field of flowers"
Piazza Farnese, is yet another great place in the cuore of the centro storico where you can park yourself at a street cafè to sip on cappuccinos, drink a glass of wine or sketch marvelous drawings of Rome, this amazing piazza also holds one of the most beautiful buildings of Rome.
The fountain in the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere is considered to be the oldest monumental fountain in the city. Its present version is the work of Bramante, though famous artists like Carlo Fontana and Bernini made later additions.
A walk around Trastevere, a formerly working-class district with a heady nightlife, will take you away from the crowds to some of the e hidden corners of Rome. With its old-world cobbled lanes, ocher palaces, ivy-clad facades, and boho vibe, ever-trendy Trastevere is one of Rome’s most lively and Roman neighborhoods.
