Itinerary and highlights
The Colosseum in Rome, built between 70-80 AD, is an iconic ancient amphitheater that hosted gladiatorial games, animal hunts, and public spectacles. With a capacity of up to 80,000 spectators, it stands as a symbol of Roman engineering and entertainment.
The Caracalla Baths in Rome, built between 212 and 217 AD, were one of the largest and most impressive ancient Roman bath complexes. Today, the ruins offer a glimpse into Roman engineering, featuring grand halls, pools, and decorative elements that highlight the luxury of the era.
The Circus Maximus in Rome was an ancient chariot racing stadium, capable of holding up to 250,000 spectators. Built in the 6th century BC, it was the largest of its kind and also hosted various public games and events throughout the Roman Empire.
The Aventine Hill in Rome offers stunning views of the city and is home to the peaceful Orange Garden (Giardino degli Aranci), known for its fragrant citrus trees. It also features the famous "keyhole" of the Knights of Malta, where you can view a perfectly framed shot of St. Peter's Basilica through a small keyhole.
Located right above the borough of Trastevere, on the west-side of Tiber River, the Gianicolo or Janiculum Hill offers one of the most terrific views over the city!
The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, located on the Janiculum Hill in Rome, is a monumental Baroque fountain completed in 1612. Designed by architect Giovanni Fontana, it was commissioned by Pope Paul V to celebrate the restoration of the Acqua Paola aqueduct and is known for its grand scale and impressive sculptures.
Step back in time along the Appian Way (Via Appia Antica), one of ancient Rome’s first and most important roads. Lined with cypress trees, aqueducts, and centuries-old ruins, this ‘Queen of Roads’ once connected Rome to southern Italy. Today, it offers a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle — perfect for a scenic drive in a classic Fiat 500.
Porta San Sebastiano is the largest and best-preserved gate of Rome’s ancient Aurelian Walls. Once the main entrance to the Appian Way, it welcomed travelers, merchants, and armies into the Eternal City. Today, it offers a striking glimpse of Roman engineering and history, with towers, battlements, and views that set the stage for your journey along the Appian Way
